Convective Available Potential Energy (CAPE)
- Convective Available Potential Energy (CAPE) defines the vertically integrated
positive buoyancy of a rising parcel. It is a good indicator of general
instability, and convection tends to be more vigorous with higher values.

| 300-1000 | Weak |
| 1000-2500 | Moderate |
| 2500-3000 | Strong |
| 3000+ | Very Strong |
- K Index is a measure of the thunderstorm potential,
according to the following scale and color fill scheme:
| 0-15 | No thunderstorms |
| 18-19 | Thunderstorms unlikely |
| 20-25 | Isolated thunderstorms |
| 26-30 | Widely scatteredthunderstorms |
